Orbex combines MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5 with three main account tiers, market research and optional hosting for automated strategies. Its practical appeal is the ability to choose between spread-only forex pricing and accounts with a separate commission, while retaining a familiar MetaTrader workflow. The starting investment is $100 for Starter, $500 for Premium and $25,000 for Ultimate.
The strongest reasons to consider it are the platform choice, Trading Central access and a published funding framework covering cards, bank transfers, electronic wallets and selected regional services. The main trade-offs are the capital needed for Ultimate, charges that can remain on swap-free positions, and payment conditions behind headline zero-fee advertising. Legal-entity disclosures also need careful matching: the Cyprus EU business closed in July 2025, while the international website names several different companies.
Availability depends on residence and the company accepting the account. The main website excludes residents of the USA, Iran, North Korea, Mauritius, Russia, Myanmar and Romania, among other jurisdictions. An official partner page also excludes Indonesia, although the main footer omits it. That inconsistency requires confirmation before an Indonesian resident applies. A translated page or a supported payment currency does not establish eligibility.
| Entity or service | Public record or disclosure | Account implication |
|---|---|---|
| Cyprus ORBEX Ltd | EU business closed 15 July 2025; CySEC 124/10 remains under examination for voluntary renunciation | Do not assume new international accounts receive Cyprus protections |
| Orbex Global Limited, Mauritius | FSC investment-dealer certificate linked by the broker; C118023330 / SEC-2.1B | Match the licence and legal company to the account agreement |
| Orbex Limited, Seychelles | Listed by the Seychelles FSA; broker legal document identifies SD110 | Separate company and contract from Mauritius |
| Orbex Limited, Saint Lucia | Website operator disclosure: registration 2025-00714 IBC | Corporate registration is distinct from an investment-services licence |
The distinctions matter when assessing protection and complaints. Orbex Services Limited in Cyprus describes its role as a payment and service facilitator, rather than a provider of regulated trading products. Its Cyprus incorporation does not make an international trading account a Cyprus investment account. The Mauritius certificate linked by Orbex shows licence C118023330, code SEC-2.1B, issued in 2019 and annotated with the Orbex Global name change; a historical certificate alone does not establish the current company assigned to a new application.
Orbex advertises segregated client funds and negative-balance protection. Segregation still leaves the custody and insolvency conditions in the agreement relevant. Its published generic agreement says the company covers liquidation deficits, whereas an older Seychelles agreement contains client-deficit liability wording. The current agreement available inside MyOrbex should identify the contracting company and applicable protection. The shared brand name is insufficient to resolve those differences.
The BrokersView Orbex profile also displays an NSSMC warning for Ukraine. That is a jurisdiction-specific warning to consider alongside the account's actual licence and residence restrictions; it does not by itself establish the outcome of an individual withdrawal dispute. The profile's older MT4-only and PAMM fields also differ from the current official three-tier MT4/MT5 offering discussed below.
| Account | Minimum investment | Forex pricing shown | Practical distinction |
|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | $100 | Variable spread; $0 separate commission | Lower capital threshold; spread remains a cost |
| Premium | $500 | From 0.0 pips; $8 per lot | Confirm whether commission is per side or round trip |
| Ultimate | $25,000 | From 0.0 pips; $5 per lot | Lower stated commission; substantially more committed capital |
Starter has the lowest funding threshold and no separate forex commission. That simplifies the charge structure, but the spread still represents a trading cost. Premium lowers the advertised spread floor in return for a stated $8-per-lot commission. Ultimate reduces that stated amount to $5, with a much higher funding requirement. None of these labels establishes the live spread on a particular instrument or the account's execution quality.
The $24,500 difference between Premium and Ultimate is additional account funding, rather than a fee. For someone already planning to maintain a $25,000 balance, the lower commission can be relevant. Depositing that amount solely to unlock a lower headline charge needs a separate assessment of expected turnover and capital exposure. The account comparison also describes analyst training and educational benefits, but those services do not substitute for checking trading costs.
A still-visible ZERO account campaign advertised $1 per side per lot and restricted new registrations to 30 September 2023. It should not be treated as a currently available fourth standard tier. The current support comparison lists Starter, Premium and Ultimate.
For one standard EUR/USD lot of 100,000 euros, one pip is $10 when the cost is expressed in US dollars. A useful transaction-cost calculation is: $10 multiplied by the actual spread in pips, plus the total commission charged for opening and closing. Add overnight financing, currency conversion and any execution difference separately. This is an arithmetic framework, rather than a measured Orbex spread or performance result.
The public account table labels Premium $8 and Ultimate $5 per lot, without clearly stating whether that is one side or the complete round trip. If $8 covers a round trip, it is equivalent to 0.8 pip on this EUR/USD example; if it is charged on each side, the completed commission is $16, equivalent to 1.6 pips. The respective $5 figures become 0.5 or 1.0 pip. Those are alternative interpretations to resolve from the actual tariff, not two confirmed account schedules.
Consequently, a reliable Starter-versus-Premium comparison uses the same instrument, trade size and market time, then adds the confirmed completed commission to each live spread. The advertised 0.0-pip floor cannot support an average-cost ranking. Starter's 1.5-pip marketing wording also varies between pages, so it should not be presented as a verified average. Stock CFDs have their own pricing and promotion conditions; the forex commission table does not settle every product's cost.
Swap-free status is available under the broker's eligibility requirements for Muslim clients, with supporting proof. It removes the usual swap treatment but can introduce daily storage charges. The trading-conditions page lists $5 per lot on ordinary forex positions after day five and $15 on JPY pairs after day five. TRY pairs are listed at $70 per lot from day one; selected other instruments also have charges from the first day. Wednesday storage after day five counts three days.
These conditions are material for someone holding JPY or TRY exposure over several sessions. The account's name alone cannot establish low financing costs. For ordinary accounts, the instrument specification gives the long and short swap amounts, calculation method and other symbol-level conditions. In MT4, these are accessed through Market Watch, then the instrument's Specifications menu.
The published terms also allow a monthly dormancy charge after four inactive months: $20, €20, £20 or PLN80 according to account currency, without taking the balance below zero. Twelve months of inactivity can lead to closure. A periodically used account therefore needs an assessment of inactivity charges in addition to the cost of each trade.
MT4 is relevant to traders retaining MQL4 robots and indicators. MT5 offers a different MQL5 environment, 21 chart timeframes compared with MT4's nine, and more pending-order types in Orbex's official comparison. An existing MT4 robot should not be assumed to run unchanged on MT5. Desktop, mobile and browser access serve different needs: the phone apps can monitor and place trades, but cannot run EAs or install custom indicators.
The advertised catalogue covers more than 400 instruments across forex, metals and other commodities, indices, cryptocurrencies and stock CFDs, including more than 200 stock CFDs. Actual symbols depend on the account and platform. Stock CFDs provide price exposure and possible dividend-related cash adjustments rather than physical share ownership. A trader seeking share custody and shareholder rights therefore has a different product requirement.
Orbex's free VPS has conditions: initial eligibility requires a real account and at least $500 deposited; monthly renewal requires three lots of trading and $500 maintained at renewal. That can complement an existing EA strategy, but opening extra positions merely to qualify for hosting creates additional transaction costs and exposure. Trading Central is available through MyOrbex and an MT4 plug-in; the published support description does not establish identical MT5 plug-in integration. Research access provides analysis, rather than a demonstrated return.
| Method | Published deposit / withdrawal time | Availability or condition |
|---|---|---|
| Visa / Mastercard | Up to 2 hours / 3–5 business days | Own-name card; original-route refund |
| Bank wire | 3–5 / 3–5 working days | Bank charges may be deducted |
| Neteller / Skrill | Up to 2 hours / up to 24 hours | Guides specify outside the EU |
| Knet | Up to 2 hours / up to 24 hours | Kuwaiti bank card |
| eNet | Up to 2 hours / up to 24 hours in comparison table | Selected clients; withdrawal instructions use bank wire |
| GateToPay | Instant / up to 24 hours | Orbex prepaid card; 4% withdrawal fee; availability applies |
| USDT / listed USDC route | Up to 2 hours / up to 24 hours | Confirm token, network and charges for lower amounts |
These are company-published processing windows, not verified delivery times. Card funding and a later card refund have different schedules. An immediate transfer between the Orbex Wallet and trading account also differs from money arriving in an external bank. The member area's available methods depend on the customer's region; the website's longer list of providers is not a universal menu.
For bank transfers, the dedicated guide lists USD, EUR, GBP, AED and KWD, with 0% Orbex fees but possible bank deductions. Visa/Mastercard and the main Neteller/Skrill tables also show 0% company fees, subject to their conditions. GateToPay is a separate Orbex prepaid-card facility and its guide lists a 4% withdrawal fee. It should not be confused with the standard bank-card row or omitted from a claim about withdrawal charges.
The crypto comparison calls 50 USDT a minimum, while the dedicated guide says transfers below 50 USDT/USDC incur processor charges. The selected token, network, amount and fee shown in the account portal need confirmation before sending funds. The guide identifies USDT TRC-20 but leaves the USDC network field blank; a matching token name alone is insufficient to choose a network. Other regional providers on the marketing page likewise need current client-area confirmation.
A withdrawal starts from the Wallet. Funds held in a trading account first need an internal transfer, while open positions and required margin affect the amount available. The published flow returns deposited money through its original payment route; card refunds take priority when several methods funded the account. Profit above the deposited amount may use other available methods under the applicable instructions. The receiving account must be in the client's own name.
The zero-fee policy has exceptions. Orbex's funding terms permit transfer or other charges when there has been no significant trading since the last deposit, and allow recovery of charges where the zero-fee benefit is considered abused. They do not publish a universal fixed lot target in that explanation. A customer intending to deposit and soon withdraw a largely unused balance should obtain the applicable fee basis rather than assume that the general 0% table settles the case.
The published client agreement makes its payment timetable conditional on complete instructions, verification and sufficient funds, and allows verification to delay processing. When a transfer is outstanding, the useful evidence is the request reference, Wallet debit, provider or bank transfer reference, and any explanation of fees or account review. A status inside the platform alone does not establish external settlement.
The official verification guide asks for identity and residential-address evidence. Address documents must show the full name and address and generally be issued within three months; examples include a bank statement, utility bill or government address certificate. Rental agreements and PO-box-only documents are excluded in that guide. Providing acceptable documents still does not guarantee account acceptance or a particular approval time.
A demo account provides a practical way to check the terminal, order types and robot compatibility with virtual funds. It cannot establish live execution or withdrawal performance. Once eligibility is confirmed, the live account's legal company, account tariff and payment options should match the intended use before it is funded.
Orbex publishes 24-hour Monday-to-Friday coverage for customer support, back office and dealing. Support handles platform enquiries; backoffice@orbex.com is a relevant route for document and payment questions; formal complaints have a separate complaints contact. These are published contact arrangements, rather than measured response times. The account-specific agreement should determine the formal escalation route.
The dated comments on BrokersView include both favourable withdrawal experiences and critical accounts. A 19 November 2025 commenter praised withdrawal speed. A 17 January 2025 commenter alleged a €60 withdrawal deduction and said support attributed it to insufficient trading. That complaint is relevant to the low-activity fee exception, but the public comment does not establish that the deduction was contractually correct or that a refund was later made.
Comments dated 12 and 17 November 2025 allege account freezes and denied withdrawals after accusations of platform abuse or unauthorized trading. The visible comments do not supply an adjudicated result or a later settlement record. They support asking for the specific contractual clause and transaction evidence when an account is reviewed; they do not establish the prevalence of such disputes or a withdrawal success rate. Positive comments also cannot establish a general service guarantee.
Orbex offers a usable set of choices for MetaTrader traders: a $100 spread-only entry tier, two commission tiers, research access and conditional VPS hosting. Its appeal is strongest when those features match an existing trading workflow. The decision becomes less attractive if the customer needs physical share custody, uninterrupted swap-free financing, unconditional free withdrawals or a clearly specified Cyprus EU account. The account's actual company and completed trading tariff remain central to that assessment.
Is $100 enough to access every account? It is the published Starter threshold. Premium requires $500 and Ultimate $25,000. A payment provider's transaction limit is a separate condition.
Does zero spread mean zero trading cost? Premium and Ultimate advertise spreads from zero and carry separate commissions. The charge for both opening and closing, together with the actual spread, determines the transaction cost.
Can an EA run from the phone app? The MetaTrader mobile apps do not run EAs. A connected desktop or hosted terminal is needed; Orbex's VPS renewal has balance and activity conditions.
Are withdrawals always free and immediate? The published routes have different processing windows. Bank or processor deductions, the GateToPay fee and low-activity exceptions can apply. Internal Wallet transfers do not establish receipt at a bank.
