OpenFX Strengthens Leadership Team with Key Product Hires to Drive Expansion and Innovation in Cross-Border Payments

OpenFX, a rapidly growing player in the cross-border payments and FX liquidity space, has announced the addition of three key product leaders to its team, signaling its commitment to scaling operations and expanding its institutional-grade infrastructure.

The new hires bring a wealth of experience from top-tier financial and technology firms, reinforcing OpenFX’s position as a leader in market-making and real-time risk management.

Alex Rowles joins OpenFX as Head of Trading & Risk, having previously led trading operations at LMAX Group, one of the leading institutional execution venues for digital assets. Rowles played a pivotal role in scaling LMAX into Euromoney's “World’s Best Trading Firm for Digital Assets” in 2025. At OpenFX, he will apply his expertise to optimize proprietary market-making and liquidity management across the firm’s multi-asset platform, which currently powers 11 currencies and is poised for rapid expansion.

Sourav Karmakar has been appointed INR Product Lead, a critical role as OpenFX accelerates its entry into the Indian market. Karmakar previously served as AVP of Product at CoinDCX, India’s largest crypto exchange, where he helped build the company’s derivatives platform and payments infrastructure. He will lead the launch of INR at OpenFX in H1 2026, marking a key step in the company’s broader global strategy.

Ethan Mackie joins as Product Operations Lead, bringing extensive experience from Novo and Thredd, where he helped scale product teams and drive operational transformation. Mackie’s focus at OpenFX will be to ensure operational efficiency and speed in scaling product initiatives across the firm.
