OKX Appoints Former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo to Board of Directors

OKX has appointed former New York Governor Andrew M. Cuomo to its Board of Directors, adding a veteran public sector and regulatory figure as the crypto exchange continues to expand its presence in the United States.

Cuomo has been advising OKX on its U.S. regulatory and institutional strategy since 2023. His appointment formalizes that relationship as the company strengthens its governance and deepens its engagement with regulators and institutional participants.

Before joining the board, Cuomo served as the 56th Governor of New York, New York State Attorney General, and U.S. Secretary of Housing and Urban Development. His experience spans government, regulation, and public policy.

The appointment comes during a period of broader expansion for OKX. In June, the company announced a joint venture with Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) aimed at connecting traditional financial markets with digital assets, with Cuomo serving as co-chair of the initiative. Earlier this year, ICE also made a strategic investment in OKX.

OKX has also continued to broaden its product offering with the launch of OKX AI, a platform designed to support autonomous AI agents through on-chain infrastructure for collaboration and transactions. The company has expanded its global regulatory footprint with licences and approvals across jurisdictions including the United States, the European Economic Area, the UAE, Singapore, and Australia.

The board appointment reflects OKX's continued focus on strengthening its regulatory expertise and institutional capabilities as it expands its role across both traditional finance and digital asset markets.
