
On Wednesday, Nomura, a global financial services group, announced the appointment of Ruchir Sharma as Global Head of FX Options Trading.
Sharma has 20 years of experience in the foreign exchange market. Prior to joining Nomura, he worked at Deutsche Bank as co-head of APAC GFX. He had also worked at banks such as Credit Suisse and Bank of America Merrill Lynch.
Sharma graduated from Delhi University with a degree in Computer Science and received his MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta.
Upon assuming his role, Sharma will be based in London and lead the development of Nomura's FX Options business, focusing on the firm's client franchise and trading capabilities. As a member of the Global FX business leadership team, he will facilitate collaboration between the currency pairs trading team and the sales team to achieve the firm's growth objectives.
