MultiBank Group has appointed Mohammed Al Hakim as Group Vice Chairman and CEO of MB.io, strengthening its leadership as it expands its digital asset and institutional businesses.
Announced on November 2, the appointment gives the former Crypto.com UAE President and General Manager responsibility for taking MB.io into new international markets and developing MultiBank Exchange’s institutional reach. His remit includes partnerships, real-world asset tokenisation and cross-border settlement.
The appointment accompanies MultiBank’s efforts to connect its established derivatives business with digital asset services.
MultiBank Exchange combines institutional trading with credit and settlement services, including settlement in fiat currencies and digital assets. Meanwhile, MB.io provides access to crypto spot products.
The group has also pursued real estate tokenisation. In a July 2025 announcement, it outlined a $3 billion property agreement and a broader $10 billion development target. These figures represent an agreement and an ambition, rather than assets already tokenised or sold.
MultiBank’s strategy illustrates how a CFD group can diversify into digital asset trading and institutional infrastructure. Its progress will depend on market access, regulatory requirements and the delivery of functioning products.
Forex, CFDs and digital assets carry significant risks. Before investing, verify the contracting entity, its regulatory permissions and the terms governing custody and withdrawals. A group’s licences may cover different entities and activities; tokenisation does not guarantee liquidity or returns.
