India’s Enforcement Directorate (ED) office in Hyderabad has filed charges against M/s Sun Pariwar Vupadi Management Pvt Ltd under the Anti-Money Laundering Act for the alleged investment scam.
The Indian state of Telangana received multiple complaints against Sun Pariwar, Methuku Ravinder, and his close associates, alleging they defrauded the public and investors by offering high-return investment schemes. The implicated entities include the Sun Pariwar Group of companies and Sun Mutually Aided Thrift and Credit Co-operative Society Limited.
It is reported that Methuku Ravinder and his associates defrauded over ₹15.8 billion from tens of thousands of victims.
Following investigations, the ED uncovered that Methuku Ravinder and his accomplices jointly devised multiple schemes, luring victims with false promises of 100% annual returns.
The ED also found that the fraudsters established multiple shell companies under the Sun Pariwar Group, including:
Methuku Chit Fund Pvt. Ltd
Methuku Ventures Ltd.
Metsun Nidhi Ltd.
Methuku Herbal Limited
Methuku Medical and Herbal Foundation
Additionally, three entities—M/s Pudami Agro Farm Lands, M/s Pudami Infra Projects (India) Ltd., and M/s Divine Infra Developers—were registered under the names of Methuku Ravinder's close associates to operate the Ponzi scheme.
It is reported that funds invested in these enterprises were not used for legitimate business but were instead misappropriated by the fraudsters to purchase various movable and immovable assets.
