Malta Regulator MFSA Warns Two Unlicensed Entities: Investoscope and Expert Advance Trade Ltd

On February 27, 2024, the Malta Financial Services Authority (MFSA) warned against unlicensed entities Investoscope and Expert Advance Trade Ltd in two respective warnings. 

Investoscope has an internet presence at https://www.investoscope.io/ and purports to be “a Maltese directed investment services supplier” that is “authorized and regulated by the Malta Financial Services Authority”.

Expert Advance Trade Ltd has an internet presence at https://www.expertadvancetrade.com/. The entity made unauthorized use and reference to company details of a Maltese-licensed company. In this regard, the Entity falsely claims to hold “a Category 3 investment services Licence no. IS/56519 issued by the Malta Financial Services Authority”.

The MFSA wishes to alert the public that Investoscope or Investoscope Mining and Expert Advance Trade Ltd are NEITHER Maltese registered companies NOR licensed or otherwise authorized by the MFSA to provide any investment services or other financial services which are required to be licensed or otherwise authorized under Maltese law. 

The MFSA cautions financial services consumers not to enter into any financial services transactions unless they have determined that the entity conducting the transaction is authorized by the MFSA or other reputable financial services regulator to provide such services. Investors should also exercise extreme caution when obtaining financial services through non-traditional channels such as telephone calls or social media.
