Fake Trading Platform Flux Vexaris Promoted Through AI-Generated News Scam

14 hours ago BrokersView

A sophisticated investment scam is spreading on Facebook, using AI-generated images and a fake news website to trick victims into investing in a fraudulent trading platform promising extraordinary returns.

The scam disguises itself as a legitimate news report by copying the appearance of a major Thai news outlet and falsely claiming that a prominent journalist exposed a secret AI-powered investment platform during an interview with a former central bank governor. The article, images and interview are entirely fabricated.

Victims are directed to a bogus trading platform called Flux Vexaris, where they are promised that an initial investment of 6,500 baht (about US$200) can generate 250,000 baht (about US$7,700) in monthly income with virtually no risk.

After registering with their name, email address and phone number, victims receive calls from supposed investment advisers who pressure them to deposit funds immediately. The scammers also create a false sense of urgency by promoting fake deadlines and limited-time investment opportunities.

Investigators found the promotional images carried a 99.8% probability of being AI-generated, while the interview used to support the claims never took place. The fraudsters also copied the branding and layout of established media outlets to make the fake article appear authentic and gain victims' trust.

The case highlights the growing sophistication of online investment scams, where criminals combine AI-generated content, cloned news websites and fabricated endorsements from respected public figures to promote fake trading platforms. Rather than investing victims' money, these schemes are designed to steal deposits and personal information, often exposing victims to additional financial fraud and identity theft.
