Cyprus-based online broker Exenico (CY) Ltd has appointed Maria Stylianou as its new Chief Executive Officer, signaling a renewed emphasis on experienced leadership in the retail Forex and CFD sector. The firm, licensed by the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC), offers trading through the MetaTrader 5 platform to retail clients.
Stylianou announced her appointment on LinkedIn, stating: "I am pleased to begin my new role as Chief Executive Officer at Exenico (CY) Ltd." Her professional background spans nearly 15 years in the over-the-counter trading industry, including previous executive roles at licensed Cypriot brokers OQtima and IGM Forex.
Before joining Exenico, Stylianou served as executive director at OQtima for over four years, and earlier held the same position at IGM Forex from 2019 to 2021. She began her career in 2011 with Windsor Brokers. Industry analysts note that her extensive experience managing regulated brokerage firms in Cyprus positions her well to navigate the increasingly stringent regulatory environment in retail trading.
Stylianou holds both a bachelor's and a master's degree in financial mathematics from the University of Manchester, in addition to a financial specialist certificate issued by CySEC. Exenico's move comes amid broader market trends in Cyprus, where retail brokers are consolidating expertise to comply with evolving European and local regulations.
