CySEC Imposes €100,000 Fine on Wonderinterest Trading Ltd for Compliance Failures

16 hours ago BrokersView

The Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC) has imposed an administrative fine of €100,000 on Cyprus Investment Firm Wonderinterest Trading Ltd following a series of regulatory breaches identified between 2022 and 2024.

CySEC’s investigation found that Wonderinterest Trading Ltd failed to comply continuously with the conditions of its operating license, including deficiencies in establishing adequate policies and procedures and in defining a clear target market for each financial instrument. The firm also did not properly assess the risks associated with these instruments for the identified end clients.

In addition, the company did not consistently act honestly, fairly, and professionally when providing investment services, and failed to ensure that information and marketing communications provided to clients were fair, clear, and not misleading.

The regulator emphasized that these measures are essential to protect investors, ensuring that financial instruments are distributed appropriately and that clients have the information necessary to make informed decisions.

CySEC noted that the firm’s shortcomings compromised client protection and highlighted the importance of robust internal policies and procedures within CIFs.
