CNMV warns on cloned and unregistered investment entities

The National Securities Market Commission (CNMV) has issued a fresh set of warnings against multiple unregistered entities offering investment services without authorisation, many of which are linked to cloned websites impersonating legitimate financial institutions.

According to the regulator, several of the flagged platforms falsely claim connections to authorised firms in Spain or the European Economic Area. These include clones misusing the identities of regulated entities such as IBROKER Global Markets, Alantra Capital Markets, AVA Trade EU Limited, and Apollo Capital Solutions Europe. The CNMV stressed that these entities have no relationship with the legitimate firms they claim to represent.

The warnings also highlight a broader pattern of fraudulent activity, where scammers deploy multiple domains and mirrored websites to create the appearance of legitimacy. In several cases, the same brand operates across different URLs, often accompanied by client portals designed to collect personal data or funds from investors.

The CNMV reiterated that none of the listed entities are registered in its official database and are therefore not authorised to provide investment services or carry out regulated financial activities. Investors are strongly advised to verify a firm’s regulatory status before engaging and to remain cautious of platforms offering trading services, particularly those using cloned branding or misleading claims.

The regulator also reminded the public that its official website provides tools to verify authorised firms, as well as channels to report suspicious activity or potential financial fraud.
