CNMV Warns Against Four Unauthorised Investment Entities, Including Cloned Firms

5 hours ago BrokersView

Spain's National Securities Market Commission (CNMV) has issued warnings against four entities suspected of offering investment services without authorisation, including two clone firms impersonating regulated financial institutions.

The regulator said none of the entities are registered with the CNMV and are therefore not authorised to provide investment services or conduct activities subject to its supervision. Two of the warnings involve clone entities falsely claiming links to licensed firms, a tactic increasingly used by fraudsters to gain investors' trust.

The CNMV reminded investors to verify whether a firm is authorised before investing and encouraged the public to report suspicious investment offers through its official reporting channels. The regulator also maintains a searchable database of warned entities to help investors identify potential scams.
