The Federal Financial Supervisory Authority has raised concerns over unauthorised investment offerings and coordinated online trading schemes targeting investors in Germany, citing risks related to missing prospectuses, unlicensed services, and identity misuse.
Evidence indicates that some operators are offering capital investments to the public without publishing the required prospectus. Under the German Capital Investment Act (VermAnlG), such offers are only permitted with prior approval. The regulator reviews prospectuses for completeness and clarity but does not verify their accuracy or assess the issuer.
Investigations also point to structured, cross-border tactics used to attract investors. These schemes often begin with online promotions, followed by invitations to messaging groups where supposed experts build credibility. Participants are then directed to external platforms to trade financial instruments or cryptoassets. Initial gains or limited withdrawals may be shown before larger deposits are encouraged, after which withdrawals are frequently restricted.
In parallel, multiple websites have been identified presenting themselves as legitimate financial providers while operating without authorisation. Some use unverifiable regulatory claims, while others misuse the identities of real firms. These platforms often change domains and operate as part of wider networked schemes.
Financial, securities, and cryptoasset services in Germany require proper authorisation. Investors are advised to verify providers through the official database and confirm the existence of an approved prospectus before investing, while remaining cautious of unsolicited offers and high-return claims.
