According to reports, the Dublin-based broker will acquire the majority of the business associated with FXCM and Tradu, brands operated by Stratos Group. FXCM’s Long-Term Restructuring Continues

Founded in New York in 1999, FXCM was among the early providers of online forex trading. The transaction follows years of restructuring under Stratos Group, which has been controlled by investment bank Jefferies.

Separately, Trade Nation agreed on October 6, 2026, to acquire FXCM’s UK client book, with the transfer expected in late November. The announcement was issued by Trade Nation through a corporate news release.

What Traders Should Watch

The AvaTrade transaction concerns the majority of FXCM Group’s business and brand rights, rather than necessarily representing the acquisition of every business entity or operation. The available reports do not disclose the purchase price or provide a complete breakdown of the assets involved.

Traders should monitor official communications from the relevant broker entities for updates on account arrangements, contracting entities, regulatory permissions and any changes to trading services. A change in ownership does not, by itself, establish that every client account or regulatory authorisation will transfer unchanged.
