Pros & Cons
Pros
  • Regulated by the Malta Financial Services Authority (MFSA) under a Category 3 license, ensuring strict adherence to European MiFID II investor protection standards.
  • Supports the high-performance JForex platform alongside MetaTrader 4, providing professional traders with advanced technical analysis tools and automated trading capabilities.
  • ECN account spreads start from 0.0 pips, offering the deep liquidity and low-cost environment necessary for high-frequency scalping strategies.
  • Segregates client funds within top-tier European banking institutions, which safeguards trader capital against corporate insolvency or operational risks.
  • Provides execution via multiple Tier-1 liquidity providers, resulting in fast trade processing and reduced slippage during periods of high market volatility.
Cons
  • Initial deposit requirement starts at $300, which creates a higher barrier to entry for retail traders compared to competitors with $0 or $10 minimums.
  • Charges a $50 inactivity fee after six months of account dormancy, potentially eroding the capital of occasional or long-term swing traders.
  • Educational resources and market research lack frequent daily updates, making the platform less comprehensive for beginners who rely on constant learning materials.
NSFX Review Overview

This comprehensive NSFX review details the platform's regulatory credentials, trading costs, and platform execution to guide your broker selection. By exploring these essential features, we help you determine: is NSFX a good broker for your financial goals?

Is NSFX Legit and Safe?

NSFX is a regulated European broker overseen by the Malta Financial Services Authority (MFSA), though its regulatory footprint is lighter following the loss of its UK FCA passport.

NSFX review

What Is NSFX? Company Background

Established in 2011, NSFX (historically operating as NSFX Limited) is a Malta-based online brokerage designed to provide ECN (Electronic Communication Network) and STP (Straight-Through Processing) execution models to retail and institutional traders. Over the years, the broker's corporate identity has evolved significantly. NSFX is a brand name powered by its operating entity, Alchemy Markets Ltd (formerly NSFX Limited), which is owned by the British Virgin Islands-registered parent company, New Star Capital Trading Ltd.

In a notable corporate development, the US OTC-listed fintech firm FDCTech, Inc. acquired a majority controlling interest in New Star Capital Trading Ltd. and its subsidiary, consolidating the broker's technology and asset base under its corporate umbrella. The broker focuses heavily on infrastructure stability and market access, presenting its services under the dual brands of NSFX and NSBroker. When evaluating the "NSFX meaning" in the retail trading landscape, it translates to a technological-first brokerage that prioritizes direct market access, though corporate restructuring and ownership shifts have made its background more complex than a standard retail CFD provider.

NSFX Regulation

The Malta Financial Services Authority (MFSA) and the Seychelles Financial Services Authority (FSA) oversee NSFX's operational entities. The MFSA is a respected Tier-2 regulator aligned with strict EU standards, whereas the Seychelles FSA provides offshore, light-touch supervision. Verification of licensing credentials can be completed directly through the official state registries. You can check the Malta Financial Services Authority official platform to verify the status of Alchemy Markets Ltd (formerly NSFX Ltd) by searching company registration number C56519 or license number IS/56519. Similarly, you can check the Seychelles Financial Services Authority official website using license number SD136 to confirm offshore authorization.

The regulatory framework for NSFX spans both high-standard European oversight and flexible offshore licensing to accommodate different client needs.

Entity NameRegulatorLicense NumberRegulatory TierInvestor Protection
Alchemy Markets Ltd (formerly NSFX Ltd)Malta Financial Services Authority (MFSA)IS/56519Tier 2Investor Compensation Scheme (up to €20,000), Negative Balance Protection
Alchemy Global LimitedSeychelles Financial Services Authority (FSA)SD136Tier 3Segregated funds, no statutory compensation scheme

European clients registering under the Malta entity receive robust, MiFID II-compliant safeguards, whereas international traders onboarded offshore trade under significantly fewer regulatory protections.

Which NSFX Entity Serves Your Region?

Clients registering for NSFX trading are assigned to different entities based on their geographic location:

  • EU and EEA Residents: Onboarded strictly under the Maltese entity, Alchemy Markets Ltd. This onboarding pathway aligns with ESMA's restrictive rules, capping retail leverage at 1:30 and requiring rigorous compliance testing during the sign-up process.
  • International Residents: Routed to the offshore Seychelles entity, Alchemy Global Limited. Offshore onboarding features a much faster, simplified KYC process but strips away regional consumer safety nets.
  • UK Clients: Note that NSFX Limited previously held a UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) passport. However, this authorization expired in December 2020, meaning UK traders register under the Malta or Seychelles entities without the protection of the UK's Financial Ombudsman Service or FSCS.

Restricted Countries

NSFX cannot accept residents from jurisdictions where local laws prohibit online CFD retail trading. These unsupported jurisdictions include:

  • North America: The United States and Canada.
  • Asia-Pacific: Japan and Singapore.
  • High-Risk/Sanctioned Jurisdictions: Iran, North Korea, Syria, Sudan, Cuba, Iraq, Yemen, Ukraine, and Russia.

Client Fund Protection

NSFX provides safety standards for retail clients under its European framework, though these safeguards are diminished under its offshore branch:

  • Segregated Accounts: Client deposits are held strictly separate from the company's operating capital in Tier-1 banking institutions, preventing the broker from utilizing client equity for corporate liquidity.
  • Negative Balance Protection: Retail accounts registered under the Maltese entity are legally protected from falling below zero, ensuring you can never lose more than your initial deposit.
  • Investor Compensation Scheme: European clients are eligible for coverage of up to €20,000 via the Maltese Investor Compensation Scheme (MICS) in the event of firm insolvency.

NSFX User Reviews and Trustpilot Rating

NSFX holds a Trustpilot rating of 2.9/5 based on only 2 reviews on its main unclaimed profile, reflecting a statistically limited sample and generally inactive direct user engagement. When factoring in the broker's localized Arabic subdomain, the brand aggregates fewer than 10 total customer submissions on Trustpilot, making the data highly insufficient for evaluating daily user satisfaction. Across broader global trading forums and aggregators, the overall user sentiment toward the broker is heavily mixed rather than strictly positive or negative.

Traders who leave feedback frequently highlight the following recurring positive experiences:

  • ECN Execution Speed: Clients note rapid order execution speeds with minimal slippage when trading through direct market access pathways.
  • Quality Learning Environment: Novice users find the structured webinars and guides in the broker's academy genuinely supportive for foundational strategy development.

Conversely, the most common user complaints center on:

  • Aggressive Telemarketing Solicitation: Users consistently complain of receiving pushy, unsolicited phone calls from account managers urging them to increase their initial deposits.
  • Protracted Withdrawal Verification: Some clients experience highly frustrating compliance hurdles and delays when trying to withdraw active trading profits.
  • Dormant Account Penalties: Retail customers criticize the broker's rigid inactivity fees, which quickly erode idle account balances.

Traders interested in viewing direct feedback can See NSFX reviews on Trustpilot to track user reports, which were last verified as of June 2026.

NSFX Account Types

NSFX offers a tiered account structure that favors intermediate and high-volume traders, but its high minimum deposit requirements present a steep barrier to entry for retail beginners.

NSFX Account Types and Minimum Deposit Requirements

Rather than offering a one-size-fits-all solution, the broker separates its retail and professional clients into three distinct, tier-based options. These accounts differ significantly in pricing structures, platform integrations, and capital requirements, forcing traders to weigh direct transaction costs against upfront capital availability.

  • MT4 Fixed (Standard) Account: This entry-tier option requires a minimum deposit of $300, charges zero trading commissions, and offers fixed spreads starting at 3.0 pips. Maximum leverage is capped at 1:30 for retail clients in Europe to satisfy MFSA requirements, though international accounts under the Seychelles entity can access leverage up to 1:100. In practice, while the fixed-spread model offers price predictability during volatile economic announcements, the 3.0-pip spread is exceptionally expensive—nearly triple the industry average—meaning you pay a massive cost-per-trade premium to avoid variable market spreads.
  • MT4 ECN Account: Designed for day traders and scalpers, this account demands a much steeper minimum deposit of $3,000. It features variable raw spreads starting from 0.0 to 1.1 pips alongside a standard commission rate of $8 per round turn standard lot ($4 per side). Retail leverage is restricted to 1:30, with international or professional clients allowed up to 1:100. This account is highly suited for high-frequency trading because the combined cost of the tight variable spread and the commission is vastly cheaper over time than the MT4 Fixed account, provided you can clear the substantial $3,000 capital hurdle.
  • JForex (NSFX Pro) Account: Geared toward advanced algorithmic traders, this premium option requires a minimum deposit of $5,000. It utilizes Dukascopy’s JForex platform, delivering raw market depth spreads starting at 0.0 pips paired with a commission fee of $8 per round turn lot. Retail leverage is restricted to 1:30, and up to 1:100 for professional or international registrations. This account is built for institutional-style traders who use automated Java-based setups, representing a highly specialized tool with an entry cost that remains far too restrictive for average retail accounts.

Does NSFX Offer an Islamic Account?

Yes, NSFX offers Sharia-compliant, swap-free Islamic accounts upon request for Muslim traders, which waive overnight swap interest while potentially applying administrative fees or wider spreads on positions held past a designated holding period. To activate this swap-free status, traders must open a standard account, clear the minimum deposit threshold, and submit a formal request with supporting documentation to the customer support team for manual approval.

NSFX Fees and Trading Costs

NSFX maintains a mid-range pricing model that pairs commission-free trading with wider fixed spreads on basic accounts, while charging an $8 per standard lot round-turn commission on its tighter ECN accounts.

NSFX Trading Fees (Spreads / Commission Fees / Swap and Overnight Fees)

Trading costs on the platform are determined directly by the account type you select, presenting a clear trade-off between higher spreads or per-trade commissions:

  • Spreads and Commissions (Fixed Account): Under the Standard Fixed Account, you pay no direct commissions. However, the average spread on major pairs like EUR/USD sits between 2.0 and 3.0 pips. This pricing is highly uncompetitive for active traders, as standard retail brokers often offer floating spreads on commission-free accounts averaging 1.0 to 1.2 pips.
  • Spreads and Commissions (ECN & JForex Accounts): These options offer raw, variable spreads starting from 0.0 to 0.3 pips during liquid trading hours. To offset this, NSFX charges a flat commission of $8 per standard lot round turn ($4 per side). This pricing is highly competitive and aligns with ECN industry standards, making these accounts vastly more cost-effective for high-frequency or volume-based trading.
  • Overnight Swap and Rollover Fees: Holding a position past the daily market close (22:00 GMT) incurs a swap charge or credit based on the overnight interest rate differential between the two currencies. A triple swap rate is applied on Wednesday nights to account for weekend settlement. Additionally, the broker implements a 1% flat administrative fee on commodity rollovers, which can slowly eat into the profitability of long-term swing traders.

NSFX Non-Trading Fees (Inactivity Fees / Currency Conversion Fees)

Unlike many of its competitors, NSFX maintains a very friendly policy regarding non-trading overheads:

  • Inactivity Fees: The broker stands out by not charging an inactivity fee. If you leave your account dormant for several months, your balance will remain untouched, a welcoming policy compared to rival brokerages that levy penalties of $10 to $50 monthly for account dormancy.
  • Currency Conversion Fees: If you trade assets denominated in a currency other than your account’s base currency (which can be held in USD, EUR, or GBP), the platform applies a standard conversion markup. This means trading a US equity CFD from a EUR account will trigger a percentage-based conversion fee during settlement.

NSFX Deposits & Withdrawals (Deposit and Withdrawal Methods / Withdrawal Speed and Minimum Limits / Deposit and Withdrawal Fees / Withdrawal Issues and User Complaints)

NSFX supports a flexible array of instant funding channels with zero deposit fees, though e-wallet withdrawals are penalized with a high 2.9% transaction charge.

Funding options are diverse and include Visa, Mastercard, traditional Bank Wire Transfer, Skrill, Neteller, and Fast Bank Transfer. Deposits are completely free across all payment methods, with credit cards and e-wallet transactions processing instantly. Bank transfers, however, take two to three business days, while Fast Bank Transfer can take up to ten days depending on banking corridors.

When withdrawing funds, processing is typically completed internally within 24 business hours. The minimum withdrawal threshold is set at a low limit of $30. While card withdrawals and bank wires do not incur direct outbound fees from the broker, utilizing Skrill or Neteller triggers a heavy 2.9% withdrawal charge. For larger accounts, this percentage-based fee can result in significant transaction overheads.

Specific user complaints regarding withdrawals are primarily linked to the broker's compliance requirements. Several customers on public forums report unexpected, highly detailed KYC (Know Your Customer) and source-of-wealth requests during their first withdrawal attempt. While these verification steps are mandated by Maltese MFSA regulations to prevent money laundering, they frequently cause administrative delays that traders interpret as withdrawal friction.

NSFX Trading Platforms, Conditions & Experience

NSFX delivers a reliable technical ecosystem built on raw ECN execution and Dukascopy's JForex technology, though its narrow asset selection limits its overall appeal for multi-asset investors.

Does NSFX Support MT4, MT5 & Mobile Trading?

NSFX supports the legacy MetaTrader 4 (MT4) platform and the institutional-grade JForex terminal, but it does not offer the newer MetaTrader 5 (MT5) engine. This platform lineup represents a distinct bifurcation in user experience, forcing traders to choose between a widely recognized standard and a specialized, advanced terminal.

  • MetaTrader 4 (MT4): MT4 remains the primary platform for retail accounts, favored for its user-friendly interface, robust charting packages, and widespread compatibility with third-party automated Expert Advisors (EAs).
  • JForex: JForex acts as the broker's premium platform in white-label partnership with Dukascopy, delivering advanced market depth, over 250 technical indicators, backtesting capabilities, and Java-based automated strategy development.
  • Mobile Trading: Mobile trading is supported on both iOS and Android devices through native MT4 and JForex applications, allowing clients to manage active positions, execute orders, and monitor real-time charts on the go.
  • MetaTrader 5 (MT5) Absence: MT5 is completely unsupported on this brokerage, a significant limitation for modern traders who require the upgraded multi-threading, advanced calendar integrations, and expanded order types native to the MT5 engine.

What Can You Trade on NSFX? (markets and instruments)

NSFX provides access to forex, indices, and select commodities, but its total product catalog is highly restrictive due to the complete absence of stock CFDs, cryptocurrencies, and ETFs. While major brokerages provide thousands of assets for portfolio diversification, this broker maintains a highly focused and sparse selection.

Tradable markets are restricted to the following categories:

  • Forex: Over 50 currency pairs, encompassing major liquid pairs, minor crosses, and a limited selection of exotic currencies.
  • Indices: Major global equity indexes including the S&P 500, Nasdaq 100, Dow Jones, DAX 40, and FTSE 100.
  • Commodities: Hard assets consisting of precious metals (gold and silver) and energy contracts (WTI and Brent crude oil).

Traders must note that individual equity CFDs, popular cryptocurrencies, bonds, and exchange-traded funds (ETFs) cannot be traded here.

NSFX Leverage, Margin & Order Execution

NSFX operates on a pure Non-Dealing Desk (NDD) execution model using ECN and STP routing, with retail leverage capped at 1:30 for European clients and up to 1:100 for offshore accounts. Because the broker routes trades straight through to its liquidity pool, execution is characterized by high speed and minimal intervention:

  • Leverage Capping: Retail leverage is legally capped at 1:30 for European accounts under MFSA jurisdiction, while international accounts onboarded via the Seychelles entity are allowed a maximum leverage of 1:100.
  • Margin and Stop-Out Rules: Margin calls are typically triggered when account equity drops to 100% of the required margin, followed by an automatic stop-out (liquidation of positions) at a 50% equity threshold.
  • No Dealing Desk (NDD) Model: Order execution runs entirely on STP and ECN setups, meaning the broker acts solely as an intermediary and never takes the opposing side of client trades.
  • Ultra-Low Latency Execution: Average execution speeds routinely clock in under 100 milliseconds, minimizing the occurrence of costly requotes or slippage during standard market conditions.

NSFX Research Tools & Educational Resources

NSFX offers a solid repository of educational materials through its structured trading academy, though its in-house research tools remain basic compared to advanced industry portals. The learning section is clearly structured, but the daily research output lacks the depth found at larger, Tier-1 brokerages:

  • NSFX Trading Academy: The broker's education center provides structured webinars, video tutorials, and interactive e-books designed to help retail traders grasp foundational technical and fundamental concepts.
  • Active Demo Accounts: A fully functional nsfx demo account is available to all users, enabling risk-free strategy backtesting and platform familiarization using real-time simulated market data.
  • Market Analysis Tools: Standard research resources are confined to basic technical analysis blogs, a standard economic calendar, and simple financial market calculators.

How Good Is NSFX Customer Support?

NSFX provides responsive multi-lingual customer support through phone, email, and live chat, but its assistance is limited to a 24/5 schedule. Support representatives operate alongside global market opening hours, meaning you will not be able to get weekend assistance:

  • Support Channels: Assistance is accessible via a responsive live web chat, direct email (support@nsfx.com), and dedicated telephone hotlines (+356 2778 1919).
  • Multilingual Options: Client services are structured to support multiple languages, including English, German, French, Italian, and Arabic.
  • Hours of Operation: Customer support is strictly limited to 24 hours a day, five days a week (Monday through Friday).

Who Is NSFX Best For?

NSFX is best suited for capitalized, platform-specific technical traders and ECN scalpers who can meet its high deposit thresholds, but it is poorly aligned with budget-conscious beginners and asset-diversified swing traders.

Is NSFX Good for Scalpers and Day Traders?

Yes, NSFX is highly suitable for scalpers and day traders who can afford its premium ECN tier, as its Non-Dealing Desk execution and raw spreads provide the low-latency environment necessary for high-frequency trading. The ECN engine routes order flows directly to deep interbank liquidity pools, reducing execution times below 100 milliseconds and maintaining tight, competitive bid-ask spreads during major sessions. However, this suitability is strictly conditional on holding a well-capitalized account. Traders with less than $3,000 are restricted to the Standard Fixed account, where a costly 3.0-pip spread makes scalping strategies mathematically unviable.

Is NSFX Good for Algorithmic Traders?

Yes, NSFX is an excellent option for advanced algorithmic traders due to its support for MT4 automated expert advisors and Dukascopy's robust JForex API integration. Quantitative traders and developers can leverage JForex’s specialized Java development environment to backtest and deploy highly complex algorithms directly into the marketplace. JForex's deep historical tick data and institutional market depth views provide a superior environment for running automated systems compared to standard retail platforms. The primary drawback remains the $5,000 capital requirement to access this setup, which screens out casual algorithmic hobbyists.

Is NSFX Good for Beginners on a Budget?

No, NSFX is not a good broker for beginners on a budget because its high entry-level deposit requirement and wide fixed spreads heavily penalize low-capital retail traders. While the educational materials in the broker's academy are helpful, the financial parameters are uninviting. A $300 minimum threshold is triple the retail industry standard, and the commission-free standard account charges a massive spread markup. For a novice trading with a small balance, these disproportionate trading costs make it extremely difficult to preserve capital while learning the ropes.

Best for: High-volume ECN scalpers, JForex algorithmic traders, and European clients seeking strict MFSA regulatory oversight.
Less ideal for: Complete beginners, low-deposit retail traders, and multi-asset swing traders who require individual stock CFDs or cryptocurrencies.

Compare NSFX with Other Popular Brokers

NSFX competes in a highly crowded brokerage landscape, positioning itself as a specialized ECN alternative against massive, low-cost retail giants.

NSFX vs IC Markets

The defining difference between these two brokers is the entry barrier and pricing efficiency, with IC Markets offering much lower minimum deposits and tighter, more consistent spreads than NSFX. While NSFX requires a steep $300 minimum for its basic fixed account and a massive $3,000 for its ECN account, IC Markets permits traders to open raw accounts with just $200. Furthermore, IC Markets provides raw spreads starting at 0.0 pips with a lower commission rate of $7 per round-turn lot, compared to NSFX's $8 round-turn fee. From a regulatory perspective, both brokers provide secure European entities, but IC Markets offers broader global licenses, including ASIC and CySEC. NSFX remains restricted by its narrower asset catalog, whereas its Australian rival delivers thousands of CFD instruments, including stocks and cryptocurrencies.

Takeaway: NSFX is the better choice for traders seeking proprietary JForex integration; IC Markets suits budget-conscious retail scalpers more.

NSFX vs RoboForex

The core contrast lies in regulatory security and trading flexibility, where NSFX delivers far stricter European regulatory oversight while RoboForex provides much higher leverage and aggressive promotional bonuses. NSFX operates under the strict guidelines of the Malta Financial Services Authority (MFSA), guaranteeing EU investor protections up to €20,000; by contrast, RoboForex operates primarily under offshore FSC regulation, offering significantly fewer statutory security nets. However, RoboForex appeals to low-capital retail participants by allowing a tiny $10 minimum deposit alongside leverage options up to 1:2000. NSFX maintains a rigid $300 minimum deposit and restricts leverage to 1:30 for European retail accounts. RoboForex also features automated copy trading and a massive asset class library, options that are entirely absent from the NSFX suite.

Takeaway: NSFX is the better choice for European regulation-focused traders; RoboForex suits high-leverage offshore traders more.

NSFX vs Interactive Brokers

The primary distinction centers on asset diversity and target audience, as Interactive Brokers operates as an institutional multi-asset powerhouse, whereas NSFX functions as a specialized, smaller-scale forex and CFD broker. While NSFX limits its traders to about 50 forex pairs, major indices, and a few energies, Interactive Brokers opens access to global stocks, bonds, options, futures, and ETFs across 150 international markets. Interactive Brokers features top-tier regulatory licenses worldwide, including SEC, FINRA, and FCA; on the other hand, NSFX relies heavily on its Tier-2 MFSA passport. For casual forex-only participants, NSFX provides a simpler MT4 and JForex execution pathway; conversely, Interactive Brokers' complex Trader Workstation terminal presents a vertical learning curve for retail traders.

Takeaway: NSFX is the better choice for straightforward MT4 forex trading; Interactive Brokers suits diversified global portfolio investors more.

NSFX Broker Quick Verdict

NSFX is a solid, highly reliable choice for well-capitalized traders seeking institutional JForex or MT4 ECN execution under strict Maltese regulation, though as this NSFX review demonstrates, its steep minimum deposits and restrictive asset catalog make it a poor fit for budget-conscious retail beginners. If you have the capital to bypass its high entry barriers and trade primarily forex or major indices, its Non-Dealing Desk execution engine delivers a secure, institutional-grade environment.

Editorial Transparency: This NSFX review is based on information from the official NSFX website, current regulatory filings, and independent third-party sources such as Trustpilot. We cross-checked the broker's regulation and license details, account types, trading and non-trading fees, deposit and withdrawal terms, platforms, and real user feedback to ensure accuracy and objectivity. This content is for educational purposes only and does not constitute financial advice; trading CFDs carries a high risk of losing money. Last updated: June 2026.

I had an amazing experience with NSFX. I was able to start making profits with just a minimal initial investment, and the best part was their excellent customer support, which helped me earn substantial profits.

Everything went smoothly with NSFX for me. At the age of 24, I started looking for ways to make money on the Internet. That's how I got into forex. After analyzing different options for earning money, I really did not find the best one. I remember that I got to the broker through a search engine. I was looking for something and came across their website. I started with an electronic textbook, then webinars went on. That's how I learned trading. For about a year, I tested my strategy and worked out a story. There was not much personal money of his own and he relied on attracting investors. When I received an annual history with a profit, I began to attract investors through forums. Now I have about a dozen of them. I am constantly looking for new ones. But the main thing is that I reached a stable, more or less normal income! On average, as a good salary in our city. I can say that such a result became possible only thanks to my patience and desire, as well as a good broker who gives high-quality access to the market and pays out profits. I believe that everyone can earn on Forex if they wish. There would be a desire.

NSFX has to me proven to by a nice solid brokerage, i chose for them due to the MFSA licensing which beats Cysec byfar. what appealed to me was their service. I have an ECN account with a somewhat larger amount so i cannot say anything about a standard account but till now they have proven to be a good solid and trustworthy broker.

I trade with ea and i dont understand why it takes so long to enable ea in the account. I waited 3 days to fix the problem. another thing is in mt4 ecn you can only trade with 0.1 size and it should be 0.01.

I used to have a friend who was trading at another broker, and then that platform would modify the customer's operations in the background so that the account could not be withdrawn. Because of this reason, I was also worried when I first started trading here. But thankfully, it didn't disappoint me.

Like everyone else, I also had to taste the taste of the bitterness of losing a deposit. But I do not regret even though I lost all my fortune and had to work off the debts of creditors for more than a year. This was a good lesson for me. So be very careful before contacting him.

There is a small choice of instruments. I would like the broker to add cryptocurrencies, to add at least PayPal and Payoneer to the list of payment systems, and to provide copy trading and bonus programs.
