1. GBP/USD Analysis:

News Summary:

The Bank of England kept its benchmark interest rate unchanged at 3.75% on Thursday, but adopted a more hawkish tone regarding inflation risks. The Bank of England Governor warned that if the turmoil in Middle Eastern energy markets persists and begins to feed more broadly into UK prices and wages, the central bank may need to raise interest rates again. Six of the nine members of the Monetary Policy Committee voted to keep rates unchanged, the same voting split as at the July meeting. However, the Iran war, which has continued for several months, has significantly altered the outlook for UK interest rates.

Trend Analysis:

We can see GBP/USD staged an oversold rebound on the H4 chart but remains below the 48 hours moving average. Meanwhile, the MACD double line and histogram bars are expanding below the zero axis. The buy limit could be set, stop loss is necessary.

2. Gold Analysis:

News Summary:

Gold has traditionally been regarded as an important hedge against inflation, but a high-interest-rate environment increases the appeal of interest-bearing assets, putting pressure on non-yielding gold. In the short term, markets are still digesting the impact of the Federal Reserve’s hawkish signals, meaning gold prices are likely to remain volatile. However, widening fiscal deficits, a growing debt burden, an eventual weakening of the U.S. dollar, and expectations that the Federal Reserve will resume monetary easing next year should provide support for gold prices over the medium to long term.

Trend Analysis:

On the H4 chart, we can see gold is consolidating after a rebound and is trading near the 48 hours moving average. In addition, the MACD double line and energy bars are contracting around the zero axis. The buy limit could be placed, stop loss is mandatory.
