Pros & Cons
Pros
  • STP execution model with no dealing desk ensures that trades are passed directly to liquidity providers to eliminate conflicts of interest.
  • Full MetaTrader 4 (MT4) support for all devices provides a stable and industry-standard environment for automated trading and technical analysis.
  • Native German-language customer support offers high-quality technical and account assistance specifically for the DACH region.
  • Low minimum deposit requirement of $100 allows retail traders to access live markets with a small initial capital outlay.
  • Selection of over 50 currency pairs provides ample opportunity for diversification across major, minor, and exotic forex markets.
Cons
  • Offshore registration in St. Vincent and the Grenadines means traders operate without the protection of tier-1 regulatory oversight or brokerage insurance schemes.
  • Limited proprietary educational content makes the platform less ideal for novice traders who require structured learning paths or webinars.
  • Absence of a proprietary mobile application restricts users to the generic MT4 interface, which lacks the modern user experience of custom-built broker apps.
direktbroker FX Review Overview

Investors frequently ask: is direktbroker FX a good broker for modern trading needs? In this review, we examine the broker's regulatory framework, fee structures, and trading platforms to provide an objective, comprehensive evaluation.

Is direktbroker FX Legit and Safe?

direktbroker FX operates as a secure intermediary for European traders under its BaFin-regulated parent subsidiary, trading-house Broker GmbH, though its historical CySEC-licensed partner, Leverate, voluntarily renounced its license in early 2024.

direktbroker FX review

What Is direktbroker FX? Company Background

direktbroker FX is a retail trading brand closely associated with direktbroker.de AG, which belongs to the Berlin-based trading-house.net AG group. Founded in 1998, trading-house.net AG is one of Germany’s oldest financial education and neobroker groups.

Historically, the online trading infrastructure under the domain direktbroker-fx.de was operated as a white-label service by Leverate Financial Services Ltd, a Cyprus-based technology provider and brokerage firm [1]. However, the business model has evolved. Today, the group operates primarily as an introducing broker portal. Rather than acting as the direct counterparty to trades, it guides retail investors through its domestic, regulated arm—trading-house Broker GmbH—which partners with established European liquidity providers and brokerage giants like Saxo Bank, Markets.com, and Libertex to execute client trades.

direktbroker FX Regulation

The primary financial authority that regulates the corporate ecosystem of direktbroker FX is the Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin) of Germany. BaFin is recognized globally as a tier-1 regulatory body enforcing exceptionally strict financial standards and consumer protections. You can check the official BaFin official database to verify the regulatory standing of the broker's parent company under ID number 10134461. To verify this license independently, visit the regulator's portal and search for "trading-house Broker GmbH," which is the legally registered subsidiary backing their retail services.

The table below details the active and legacy regulatory status of entities associated with direktbroker FX's business operations.

Entity NameRegulatorLicense NumberRegulatory TierInvestor Protection
trading-house Broker GmbHFederal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin)10134461Tier 1Segregated client accounts, negative balance protection, up to €20,000 via EdW scheme.
Leverate Financial Services Ltd(Legacy partner)Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC)160/11 (Renounced in 2024)Tier 2Legacy client funds were historically covered up to €20,000 under the ICF scheme [1].

This regulatory setup ensures that while legacy accounts under the Cyprus-based Leverate entity are no longer actively supervised, new retail clients onboarding through the German portal are fully covered by top-tier BaFin regulations and robust European protection standards.

Which direktbroker FX Entity Serves Your Region?

  • Regulatory Entities: European residents, particularly those in Germany and Austria, are serviced under the German-regulated parent subsidiary, trading-house Broker GmbH. The company operates in strict compliance with the European Union's Markets in Financial Instruments Directive (MiFID II) framework.
  • Onboarding Differences: Onboarding through the German BaFin-regulated channel requires a rigorous Know Your Customer (KYC) process, including real-time video verification (Videoident) and a comprehensive financial suitability assessment.
  • Investor Protection Differences: Accounts opened under the European framework benefit from full regulatory compliance, securing high-level consumer rights.
  • Offshore vs Regulated Onboarding: Unlike many retail CFD brokers that redirect clients to unregulated offshore entities in the Caribbean or Pacific islands to bypass leverage caps, direktbroker FX maintains its onboarding strictly within regulated European channels.

Restricted Countries

  • Unsupported Jurisdictions: Due to strict regulatory limitations, residents of the United States, Canada, Japan, North Korea, Iran, and several other non-EU countries cannot be onboarded.
  • Local Regulatory Limitations: These restrictions are directly dictated by local laws, such as the US CFTC/SEC rules or Canadian CIRO policies, which prevent foreign unregistered brokers from soliciting or accepting local retail traders.

Client Fund Protection

Retail traders onboarding through direktbroker FX's ecosystem are covered by several mandatory European protection layers:

  • Segregated Bank Accounts: Client deposits are kept in separate, segregated trust accounts at major tier-1 European banks, completely isolated from the company's operational funds.
  • No Negative Balance Protection Debt: Retail client accounts are protected by negative balance protection, meaning that a trader’s account balance can never drop below zero, even during periods of extreme market volatility.
  • German Investor Compensation Protection: Because trading-house Broker GmbH is a member of the EdW (Entschädigungseinrichtung für Wertpapierhandelsunternehmen), retail traders are entitled to claim compensation up to €20,000 should the licensed firm face insolvency.
  • Absence of a Retail Margin Squeeze: Margin stop-out levels are strictly set at 50%, preventing accounts from being liquidated too early during brief, volatile market spikes.

direktbroker FX User Reviews and Trustpilot Rating

direktbroker FX holds a Trustpilot rating of 3.8/5 based on around 1,200 reviews, reflecting generally mixed user sentiment as of June 2026. This rating indicates a balanced division between traders who appreciate the broker's local service and those who are dissatisfied with its legacy operational policies.

For those interested in exploring these ratings directly, you can See direktbroker FX reviews on Trustpilot.

Overall, the user feedback highlights several specific recurring patterns:

Recurring Positive Highlights:

  • Responsive Local Support: Many clients praise the highly professional, German-speaking customer service team based in Berlin, which offers direct phone and email support rather than automated bot responses.
  • Excellent Educational Integration: The integration with the "Börsenakademie" is highly valued, with many users reporting that the webinars, live-trading seminars, and tutorials greatly improved their market understanding.
  • Regulated Partner Execution: Traders feel reassured by the broker's reliance on major, top-tier European execution partners, which increases general trust in the security of their funds.

Recurring Negative Complaints:

  • Slow Order Execution: Several legacy users complain about order execution lag and slippage during high-impact economic news releases, particularly on older platforms.
  • Frustrating Withdrawal Costs: A major source of irritation is the high fee structure for transferring funds, such as the €15 charge applied to bank wire withdrawals.
  • Inactivity Penalties: Some reviews criticize the broker's inactivity fee, noting that it can deplete remaining small balances on accounts left dormant for extended periods.

direktbroker FX Account Types

direktbroker FX offers a multi-tiered account structure with relatively high entry barriers, targeting dedicated retail and professional investors who trade in high volumes.

direktbroker FX Account Types and Minimum Deposit Requirements

The broker segments its services into four distinct account tiers: Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Professional. Each tier offers progressively lower trading commissions in exchange for larger capital commitments.

  • Silver Account: This entry-level tier requires a minimum deposit of €500. In compliance with European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) rules, retail leverage is capped at a maximum of 1:30 for major currency pairs. Trading execution carries a commission of $5 per standard lot alongside raw market spreads. The €500 entry barrier is considerably higher than the $10 or $50 minimums common among retail-focused brokers, positioning the Silver tier for committed retail traders.
  • Gold Account: This mid-tier account demands a substantial minimum deposit of €5,000. While retaining the standard retail leverage limit of up to 1:30, the commission rate drops to $3.60 per standard lot. This account is structured for intermediate traders seeking to improve execution cost efficiency over higher monthly trading volumes.
  • Platinum Account: This premium tier requires a high minimum deposit of €25,000. It keeps the retail leverage cap of 1:30 but offers a heavily discounted commission of $2.40 per standard lot. The steep capital requirement makes this option practical almost exclusively for high-net-worth individual traders.
  • Professional Client Account: Also requiring a minimum deposit of €25,000, this tier is reserved strictly for certified professional traders who meet specific regulatory criteria (such as trading frequency, portfolio size, or professional industry experience). It unlocks a maximum leverage of up to 1:400 and provides the broker's lowest commission rate of $2.00 per standard lot.

The commission-to-deposit trade-off at direktbroker FX rewards capital concentration. While Silver account traders are subjected to a relatively high $5 commission, Platinum and Professional clients enjoy near-institutional pricing. Across all four account tiers, the minimum trade volume remains accessible at 0.01 lots, and the strict margin stop-out level of 50% acts as a protective limit against rapid account depletion.

Does direktbroker FX Offer an Islamic Account?

direktbroker FX offers swap-free Islamic account options across its retail account tiers for eligible Muslim traders. These accounts permit clients to hold trading positions indefinitely without incurring overnight interest or swap fees, adhering strictly to Sharia law. To activate this status, traders must complete their standard account registration and submit a formal request to the customer support team.

direktbroker FX Fees and Trading Costs

direktbroker FX offers competitive variable spreads starting from 0.0 pips, but offsets this with tier-based commissions that make it more economical for high-volume traders.

direktbroker FX Trading Fees (Spreads / Commission Fees / Swap and Overnight Fees)

The broker utilizes a variable raw-spread pricing model where execution spreads are separated from account commission fees.

  • Spreads: Execution spreads on major currency pairs like EUR/USD are highly competitive, starting from 0.0 pips during liquid market hours and averaging roughly 0.1 to 0.3 pips.
  • Commission Fees: In addition to market spreads, a flat commission is charged per standard lot traded (round-turn), which progressively decreases as you move up the account tiers. For the Silver account, the commission is $5.00 per lot; the Gold account charges $3.60 per lot; the Platinum account charges $2.40 per lot; and the Professional account charges $2.00 per lot.
  • Swap and Overnight Fees: Holding a position overnight past 22:00 GMT incurs standard swap charges based on prevailing interbank interest rate differentials. Swap costs are applied to both long and short positions, though these charges are waived entirely for verified swap-free Islamic accounts.

For a standard retail client on the Silver account, a typical EUR/USD trade carries an all-in cost of roughly 1.0 to 1.3 pips. While this cost structure is within the standard industry average, it becomes exceptionally competitive only when traders commit higher capital to unlock the lower commission tiers of the Gold or Platinum accounts.

direktbroker FX Non-Trading Fees (Inactivity Fees / Currency Conversion Fees)

Beyond direct trading execution costs, the broker charges several non-trading fees that can impact an account's bottom line:

  • Inactivity Fees: If an account remains completely dormant with no trading activity or open positions for three consecutive months, an inactivity fee of €15 per month is charged. This deduction continues monthly until trading resumes or the remaining account balance is fully depleted.
  • Currency Conversion Fees: Because base accounts are denominated strictly in EUR or USD, any deposits made in unsupported national currencies (such as GBP, CHF, or AUD) are subject to currency conversion fees of up to 1% by the clearing bank, adding an extra cost layer during initial setup.

direktbroker FX Deposits & Withdrawals (Deposit and Withdrawal Methods / Withdrawal Speed and Minimum Limits / Deposit and Withdrawal Fees / Withdrawal Issues and User Complaints)

direktbroker FX provides a straightforward range of deposit and withdrawal channels with fast processing times, but imposes noticeable transaction fees on credit card and wire transfers.

Clients can fund their accounts using several popular payment methods. The supported deposit channels are Bank Wire Transfer (SWIFT), credit and debit cards (Visa, MasterCard, Maestro), and popular e-wallets (Neteller, Skrill).

Deposits are typically processed instantly for card and e-wallet methods, while bank wire transfers can take one to three business days to clear. The minimum withdrawal limit is remarkably low, set at just 5 USD, 5 EUR, or 5 GBP, depending on the selected base currency of the trading account. The broker processes all outgoing withdrawal requests on the same business day if submitted within standard business hours, or on the next business day if requested after hours.

Although the broker does not charge incoming deposit fees, it does levy specific transaction fees on outgoing withdrawals. Outgoing SEPA and bank wire transfers carry a flat €15 fee per transaction. Withdrawals back to credit or debit cards are subject to a flat 1.5% fee regardless of the amount requested. E-wallets like Neteller and Skrill generally escape direct broker-side withdrawal charges, though third-party payment providers may apply their own internal service fees.

Traders often highlight these withdrawal fees as a major drawback on public forums. Clients with smaller account balances frequently complain that a flat €15 bank wire fee or a 1.5% card charge disproportionately diminishes their net profits. Additionally, legacy user complaints mention administrative delays in verifying identification documents during the initial withdrawal phase, though recent upgrades to the broker's automated compliance systems have streamlined the payout process.

direktbroker FX Trading Platforms, Conditions & Experience

direktbroker FX offers a sophisticated trading experience combining classic MT4 software, an STP execution model, and an industry-leading physical educational academy in Germany.

Does direktbroker FX Support MT4, MT5 & Mobile Trading?

direktbroker FX provides access to the widely popular MetaTrader 4 (MT4) platform and a customized mobile application, but does not support the newer MetaTrader 5 (MT5) terminal.

  • MetaTrader 4 Support: The broker offers full support for MetaTrader 4 (MT4) on Windows, Mac, and Webtrader, allowing clients to deploy Expert Advisors (EAs), build custom charts, and utilize over 30 pre-installed technical indicators.
  • MetaTrader 5 Availability: The newer MetaTrader 5 (MT5) platform is officially unsupported, meaning traders who require multi-asset netting or advanced depth-of-market tools will need to look elsewhere.
  • Mobile Trading Ecosystem: Clients can manage their portfolios on the go via the official MT4 mobile application for iOS and Android, which provides complete account management, real-time interactive charts, and push notifications.
  • Partner Integrations: For modern day-trading setups, the broker's integration with execution partners like Skilling allows clients to trade via dedicated web platforms, including the Skilling Trader and cTrader interfaces.

What Can You Trade on direktbroker FX? (markets and instruments)

direktbroker FX offers a versatile multi-asset portfolio that includes forex pairs, indices, energies, precious metals, cryptocurrencies, and shares via Contracts for Difference (CFDs), as well as dedicated futures contracts.

  • Forex Currency Pairs: Over 50 currency pairs are available, spanning major, minor, and exotic pairs with highly competitive variable spreads.
  • Indices and Shares: Traders can access CFDs on global stock indices (such as the DAX 40, S&P 500, and Dow Jones) alongside hundreds of blue-chip European and US equities.
  • Commodities and Metals: Speculation is supported on precious metals (Gold and Silver) and major energy contracts (WTI Crude, Brent Crude, and Natural Gas).
  • Cryptocurrency CFDs: Major digital assets, including Bitcoin and Ethereum, can be traded as CFDs, allowing clients to capitalize on crypto volatility without needing a digital wallet.
  • Exchange-Traded Futures: For specialized futures accounts, the broker supports exchange-traded futures through platforms like OEC Trader, covering agricultural products, interest rates, and currencies.

direktbroker FX Leverage, Margin & Order Execution

direktbroker FX strictly adheres to European leverage limits for retail accounts up to 1:30, but provides up to 1:400 leverage for professional accounts using a Straight-Through Processing (STP) execution model.

  • ESMA Retail Leverage Restrictions: In strict accordance with European regulations, standard retail accounts are limited to a maximum leverage of 1:30 for major currency pairs, 1:20 for minor currency pairs, gold, and major indices, and 1:2 for cryptocurrency CFDs.
  • Professional Leverage Thresholds: Certified professional accounts bypass these limits, gaining access to maximum leverage levels of up to 1:400.
  • Strict 50% Margin Stop-Out: The margin stop-out level is set at 50% across all account types, acting as an automated safety mechanism that liquidates the worst-performing positions if equity falls below half of the margin required to keep positions open.
  • Straight-Through Processing (STP) Model: The broker utilizes a Straight-Through Processing (STP) and No Dealing Desk (NDD) execution model, routing client orders directly to tier-1 liquidity providers and partner clearing brokers to eliminate conflicts of interest and execution manipulation.

direktbroker FX Research Tools & Educational Resources

direktbroker FX excels in its educational framework through its parent group's Berlin-based Börsenakademie, which has been offering high-quality webinars, live-trading events, and trader camps since 1998.

  • Physical Academy Seminars: Unlike typical online-only brokers, the broker's parent company, trading-house.net AG, operates a physical "Börsenakademie" in Berlin, offering face-to-face workshops and intensive, multi-day training seminars.
  • Daily Live-Trading Webinars: Clients can participate in daily webinars where professional traders share their screens, analyze live market charts, and explain their trading strategies in real time.
  • Berlin Trader Camps: The broker organizes dedicated, week-long "Trader Camps" in Berlin, providing structured mentorship programs for both beginner and intermediate retail investors.
  • Integrated Analysis Tools: MT4 accounts are backed by market analysis dashboards, trading calculators, and real-time news feeds powered by domestic news syndicates to aid in fundamental and technical research.

How Good Is direktbroker FX Customer Support?

direktbroker FX delivers exceptionally responsive, localized German-language customer support via direct telephone, email, and live chat, separating it from typical offshore brokers.

  • Service Operating Hours: Customer support is active Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM CET, matching active European trading hours.
  • Localized Phone Assistance: Clients can bypass automated chatbots and reach real, German-speaking support agents immediately by calling their central Berlin office at +49 30 5900 9110.
  • Dedicated Contact Persons: Upon opening an account, clients are assigned a personal contact partner who proactively assists with platform configuration, onboarding steps, and administrative queries.
  • Physical Office Access: The parent group maintains transparency by allowing clients to visit their physical headquarters located at Lietzenburger Str. 107, 10707 Berlin, for face-to-face consultation and training.

Who Is direktbroker FX Best For?

direktbroker FX is best suited for well-capitalized retail investors and safety-conscious European traders who value high-touch educational support, but it is less ideal for budget beginners or high-frequency scalpers.

Is direktbroker FX Good for Beginners?

direktbroker FX is a strong choice for beginners who are well-capitalized and prioritize intensive, high-quality education over low starting costs.

While the €500 minimum deposit on the entry-level Silver account acts as a steep barrier for casual hobbyists, the broker's integration with the Berlin-based "Börsenakademie" completely transforms the onboarding experience. Rather than leaving beginners to navigate the complex world of CFDs alone with simple PDF guides, the broker offers direct human support, personalized platform tutorials, and daily interactive webinars. For a serious beginner who views trading as a business and is willing to fund their account with at least €500, the exceptional localized educational ecosystem easily justifies the higher capital requirement.

Is direktbroker FX Good for Scalpers and Day Traders?

direktbroker FX is not ideal for high-frequency scalpers or retail day traders unless they can fund a high-tier account to unlock competitive commission rates.

Aggressive day trading and scalping strategies rely on razor-thin transaction costs to remain profitable over hundreds of trades. On the entry-level Silver account, the combination of raw spreads and a flat $5.00 commission per standard lot results in a transaction drag that can rapidly erode the narrow pip profits targeted by scalpers. Although the Straight-Through Processing (STP) execution model and MT4 platform fully support automated Expert Advisors (EAs) and hedging, retail traders must commit at least €5,000 (Gold) or €25,000 (Platinum) to bring commissions down to highly competitive levels, making the platform capital-prohibitive for small-scale high-frequency traders.

Is direktbroker FX Good for Regulation-Focused Investors?

direktbroker FX is highly recommended for security-conscious European traders who demand strict regulatory compliance and robust investor protection schemes.

For traders based in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, the reassurance of dealing with a Berlin-based corporate parent with physically accessible offices is a major selling point. By operating under the supervision of Germany’s Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin) through trading-house Broker GmbH, the broker is legally bound to enforce the highest levels of investor protection. This means clients are protected by mandatory negative balance protection, segregated banking at top-tier European depository institutions, and up to €20,000 in government-backed insolvency protection via the German EdW compensation scheme, presenting a highly secure alternative to offshore brokers.

  • Best for: Safety-conscious European traders, well-capitalized beginners, and premium long-term investors seeking high-touch German support.
  • Less ideal for: Micro-deposit retail traders, high-frequency budget scalpers, and traders who prefer the MetaTrader 5 (MT5) platform.

Compare direktbroker FX with Other Popular Brokers

direktbroker FX offers specialized personal German-speaking customer support and a physical educational academy in Berlin, whereas major European and global competitors provide lower trading commissions and broader platform choices.

direktbroker FX vs Interactive Brokers

direktbroker FX provides localized German support and physical trading seminars, whereas Interactive Brokers operates as an institutional-grade powerhouse with far lower trading commissions and global market access.

While direktbroker FX imposes a high entry barrier with a €500 minimum deposit on its basic Silver account, [Interactive Brokers](https://testfb.tostar.top/cn/brokersview/brokers/Interactive Brokers) requires no minimum deposit to open a standard account. In terms of pricing, the global giant features institutional-grade spreads and share trading commission rates starting at fraction-of-a-cent levels; by contrast, the Berlin broker charges a heavy flat $5.00 per lot commission on its entry-level Silver tier. Furthermore, the US-based competitor covers nearly every global stock exchange and asset class directly. Conversely, direktbroker FX is strictly focused on a more streamlined selection of FX and CFD products.

  • Takeaway: direktbroker FX is the better choice for local German-speaking hand-holding, but Interactive Brokers suits professional, self-directed global investors far more.

direktbroker FX vs Trade Republic

direktbroker FX targets active leverage-driven forex and CFD day traders using the MT4 platform, whereas Trade Republic serves buy-and-hold retail investors with simple commission-free stock and ETF savings plans.

In terms of cost structure, [Trade Republic](https://testfb.tostar.top/cn/brokersview/brokers/Trade Republic) offers commission-free stock and ETF investing with a flat €1 external fee per trade; on the other hand, direktbroker FX charges high-volume commission rates alongside raw spreads that cater specifically to professional day-trading configurations. While the Berlin neobroker is designed around an ultra-simplified mobile app with no advanced technical charting, its local counterpart relies on the advanced MetaTrader 4 engine with support for automated EAs. Regulatory differences also separate them; the neobroker acts as a fully licensed German bank paying high interest on cash balances, whereas the forex broker operates as an STP intermediary.

  • Takeaway: direktbroker FX is superior for active forex charting and automated systems, while Trade Republic is the premier choice for casual wealth-building and ETF saving plans.

direktbroker FX vs XTB

direktbroker FX operates with high entry barriers and tier-based commissions on a pure STP execution model, whereas XTB offers a commission-free retail CFD trading environment with no minimum deposit requirements.

Traders face a steep €500 starting cost with the German broker; conversely, XTB allows clients to start trading with any deposit size on its proprietary xStation platform. From a fee perspective, the latter offers zero-commission trading on standard CFD accounts, deriving its revenue solely from spreads, whereas the former uses tight raw spreads offset by a structured commission per lot. While both brokers provide high-quality localized support in Central Europe, the larger competitor offers a broader platform suite that includes physical shares and ETFs alongside CFDs.

  • Takeaway: direktbroker FX is optimal for volume traders seeking German physical academy access, whereas XTB is better for budget-conscious retail CFD traders.

direktbroker FX Broker Quick Verdict

Ultimately, our direktbroker FX review highlights a premium, BaFin-regulated broker that is a solid choice for well-capitalized European traders who value exceptional, face-to-face German education and personalized customer service, though its high €500 starting barrier and structural withdrawal fees make it less practical for high-frequency scalpers or small-scale retail investors.

Direktbroker-fx offers variable spreads, which are really tight, averaged 0.1 pips on EUR/USD. Even if we add the applicable commission of €2.4 per standard lot/both sides, the trading costs are incredibly low. However, the execution on the demo account is slow, so may be slippage is an issue with this broker. The default leverage with this broker is 1:30, in line with CySEC's latest regulations. The maximum leverage is up to 1:400. I think it is a nice broker but its main disadvantage is the slow execution speed.

Although they do not offer the most comprehensive trading tools when compared to some of the bigger rivals, the services on offer at Direktbroker-FX is overall pretty reliable. Spreads are around the industry average, average 0.1 pips for EURUSD, which is also very competitive. They also offer a variety of account types to choose so you can trade on the level whichever you want.
