Eurex has appointed Eric Leupold as its new CEO, succeeding Robbert Booij effective January 1, 2027. The leadership change follows Booij’s decision not to seek an extension of his Executive Board mandate.
Leupold currently serves as Managing Director Cash Market and Chief of Staff of the Trading & Clearing Division. He joined Deutsche Börse Group in 2009 and has held senior roles across DB1 Ventures, Cash Market, and Trading & Clearing Strategy.
The succession was announced by Eurex Frankfurt AG following the appointment of Leupold by the company’s Supervisory Board. His current Cash Market role will be addressed separately at a later date.
Booij became CEO of Eurex in July 2024. Eurex said his tenure included record performance, business growth and cost management, as well as the integration of Eurex Exchange and Eurex Clearing into a unified organization.
Deutsche Börse Executive Board Member Thomas Book thanked Booij for his leadership and welcomed Leupold, citing his experience across Deutsche Börse Group.
The leadership transition is relevant to the derivatives market because Eurex is a major trading and clearing venue within Deutsche Börse Group. Investors and market participants can follow further announcements from Eurex and Deutsche Börse for updates on the management transition.
