CMC Markets has appointed Angela Hayward as Head of Corporate Distribution ANZ, expanding its corporate broking and capital raising division, CMC CapX, into Australia and New Zealand.
Based in Sydney, Hayward will oversee investor distribution, issuer relationships, and capital raising initiatives across the region as the company looks to replicate its UK model in Asia-Pacific markets.
CMC CapX, launched in 2022, focuses on connecting companies raising funds with institutional and wholesale investors across both public and private markets. The division has primarily operated in the UK so far, helping small-cap and privately held firms raise capital, while also launching products such as Spotlight, a video-based investor engagement platform.
Hayward brings more than three decades of experience in financial services and brokerage. She previously spent over 10 years at Bell Direct as Head of Wholesale and earlier worked more than seven years at E*TRADE Australia in business development roles. More recently, she ran consultancy firm Hayward Wealth and also worked with Australian Bond Exchange on affiliate partnerships and fixed income distribution.
Her appointment comes as capital raising markets become increasingly competitive and relationship-driven, with firms placing greater emphasis on targeted investor distribution and data-led fundraising strategies.
The move also reflects a broader trend of brokerage groups diversifying beyond traditional CFD and leveraged trading businesses into adjacent areas including corporate finance, private markets, and alternative investment solutions.
