Bank Negara Malaysia Updates Financial Consumer Alert List
Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) updates its Financial Consumer Alert List from time to time to alert people about entities that may falsely claim or be mistakenly believed to be authorized or regulated by BNM.
The bank said that upon receipt of reports from the public, BNM investigated and assessed the subjects of the reports and determined that the entities or investment schemes in the list were not authorized by Bank Negara Malaysia.
BNM also cautioned that even if some of the entities are not included in the list or removed from the list, it does not mean that these entities are authorized by the agency.
In a Sept. 14 update, several fraudulent brokers that BrokersView had exposed were warned by BNM.
