ATFX has expanded its senior leadership team with the appointment of Charbel Raffoul as Head of Compliance for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). The move underscores the broker’s strategic focus on strengthening oversight and maintaining a resilient compliance culture as it scales its presence across the region.
Raffoul brings more than 15 years of specialised experience in compliance, AML, financial crime prevention, and regulatory affairs within the MENA financial sector. He has held a series of senior posts—including Regional Head of Compliance and Director & MLRO—at prominent financial institutions, where he led cross-border regulatory engagement and oversaw the development of comprehensive compliance infrastructures.
Throughout his career, Raffoul has designed and executed governance frameworks adapted to multi-jurisdictional regulatory environments, managed high-stakes supervisory interactions, and cultivated constructive relationships with regulators. He also contributed for three consecutive years as a member of the Seychelles Financial Services Authority (FSA) Capital Markets Committee, providing industry input on regulatory developments.
Commenting on the appointment, Khaldoun Sharaiha, CEO of ATFX MENA, noted that Raffoul’s deep understanding of the region’s supervisory landscape and his consistent commitment to ethical standards make him “a natural fit to lead the firm’s compliance agenda during a period of strategic expansion.”
Joe Li, Chairman of ATFX Group, highlighted that strong governance remains central to the company’s global operating philosophy. He added that Raffoul’s experience as an Approved Person across multiple key jurisdictions aligns closely with ATFX’s objective of maintaining transparent, well-structured operations worldwide.
With this leadership addition, ATFX signals its intent to further reinforce governance practices, elevate regulatory engagement, and support sustainable growth across the MENA region.
