The Autorité des Marchés Financiers (AMF) has issued a fresh warning to investors regarding numerous unauthorized entities offering crypto-asset services in France. Since early 2025, the AMF has identified a growing number of websites operating without regulatory approval, putting the public at risk of fraud, loss of funds, and other financial crimes.
Crypto-asset services, including trading, wallet management, and investment schemes, are strictly regulated in France. Any entity not registered or approved by the AMF is operating illegally. Investors are urged to exercise extreme caution and to verify the status of any platform before transferring funds. The AMF emphasizes that unauthorized websites may promise high returns, provide false investment records, or create complex schemes designed to mislead users.
The watchdog recommends consulting its official whitelist of authorized digital asset service providers (DASP) and crypto-asset service providers (CASP) before engaging in any transactions. Relying on unverified or blacklisted platforms exposes users to significant financial and legal risks. In addition to personal losses, transactions with illicit providers may complicate legal recourse or recovery of assets.
