Hong Kong's Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) has confirmed that Chief Executive Officer Julia Leung will serve a second term, extending her leadership for an additional two years beginning 1 January 2026. Her current term is scheduled to conclude at the end of 2025.

Leung has led the regulator since early 2023, a period marked by market reforms and regulatory initiatives aimed at reinforcing Hong Kong's position as an international financial centre. The SFC said her tenure has been characterised by steady engagement with industry stakeholders and continued work on governance standards.

SFC Chairman Kelvin Wong said the Commission had "benefited immensely from Julia's strategic vision and dedication," adding that the next phase of work would concentrate on data capabilities, talent development, and succession planning. These priorities, he said, are intended to support institutional continuity as market conditions evolve.

Leung said she was "honoured to continue serving" and highlighted the progress made during her first term, noting that she looks forward to advancing investor protection, market integrity, and innovation. She also pointed to the importance of close collaboration with the SFC Board and market participants as the regulator pushes ahead with its agenda in the coming years.
